December New Features

To close out a year of great achievements, Alyne Users will be able to benefit from powerful new Multiple Maturity Models, machine-learning capability that generates summaries for attachments, define granular access rights for Campaign Tasks as well as Objects, configure Repeated Campaigns, leverage Computed Object Properties for aggregated data, and configure Object Types on the go with the Custom Object Type Editor.

1. Machine-Learning Based Attachment Summary

Within Alyne’s Assessments, users have the ability to provide evidence as documents on any Assessment question. This month, we have enhanced our capabilities using Alyne’s Machine Learning model. This feature boasts the ability to understand the content of the attached document and provide an intelligent summary as a preview before opening the document itself. This capability differs from conventional summarisation models where individual sentences are extracted directly from the text and ranked accordingly. Due to the nature of our summary, the model is able to fill in new words, also known as ‘hallucinations’. The benefit in receiving these generated previews is that Alyne users can quickly assess whether the full evidence provided is valid or if it requires more attention.

2. New Campaign Task - Review Object Access Rights

Alyne’s Campaigns are a powerful main driver for executing workflows. Recently, we have introduced an entirely new Campaign Task Type which allows you to enforce a review of access rights on Objects. With a distinguished set of access rights applied, it is more convenient than ever to mass-inspect that sufficient access rights have been applied to the most important Objects in your Library.

3. Access Rights for Objects

Alongside the new Campaign Task that has been introduced, we have now deployed more granular access rights to our Objects. Now you can freely configure access rights based on roles and individual read/write/modify requirements directly on your Objects, which also takes approvals into account. Along with general access configurations, you can also apply a dedicated approval rights schema here. All configurations are backed up with the Campaign Task as stated above to make sure you are always running on the ideal setup required within your organisation.

4. Multiple Maturity Models

Up until recently, whenever running Assessments in Alyne, the process has relied on CMMI as the core maturity model that has been followed across all Controls. Now, we have introduced Multiple Maturity Models into Alyne, which is a huge step forward in how maturity can be measured. In your organisation settings, you can now set up and configure as many maturity models as you like and apply different maturity schemas across those models. Depending on your individual needs, you can decide on a boolean model for example, where you might want to evaluate being compliant/non-compliant, or any other type of step-based maturity model. Whichever approach you want to take when assessing maturity, we’ve got you covered!

All models are available for immediate configuration on all individual Controls, and additionally, every model can be used for executing Assessments in the exact composition that you need. Alyne’s Multiple Maturity Models are also available in Reports, and so your most valuable Reports now also cover results from Assessments running on different maturity models, regardless of the type of maturity model you have been working with up until now. Furthermore, we have also incorporated Multiple Maturity Models into Alyne’s Funnels. Whenever running a Funnel to classify and categorise your assets, you can now also take advantage of all maturity models that have been set up within your organisation. With this powerful new capability, we are eager to learn about the value it provides you in its aim of driving greater efficiency and convenience across your organisation.

5. Repeated Campaigns

This month brings even more improvements to Alyne’s Campaigns, with the ability to now create a repeat schedule on Campaigns. This time-saving feature says goodbye to configuring the same Campaign setup over and over, enabling you to simply mark a Campaign to be repeated on a defined schedule - whether weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. As a Campaign completes, the same setup will be re-established. You also don’t need to worry about the legacy from previous iterations as everything is sorted out automatically in Alyne. Of course, the new iteration cycle can be inspected before execution. The scope for every iteration is dynamically considered, which makes it more convenient than ever before. Whenever assets become in-scope or are found to be out-of-scope, they are automatically added or removed prior to the next execution. The repeated execution of Campaigns is kept runniing until you choose to stop it, however, even in that case, all remaining dependencies are managed with Alyne’s Escalations and Reminders for open Tasks.

6. Computed Object Properties

We have just introduced Computed Properties on Objects, which allows you to define calculation schemas that essentially calculate aggregated information from the referenced Objects. This functionality can be applied based on your organisation’s individual needs, upon request to your Customer Success representative.

7. Custom Object Type Editor

Going further in the realm of providing you with greater flexibility, we have also shipped the Custom Object Type Editor. This allows you to create and configure Object Types on the go, as you need them within your organisation. This functionality is available for you to configure out-of-the-box.

Closing off the year with such a large and powerful set of new functionality is a great accomplishment for our team. We couldn’t be more proud of what we have achieved this year and we’re all eager to take Alyne’s solution to greater heights throughout the next year.
